James Bond audition tapes from 2005 have surfaced online, showcasing Henry Cavill's take on 007 before he was ultimately outshone by Daniel Craig for the iconic role. According to Games Radar, these tapes were uploaded to the Ron South YouTube channel, which belongs to an avid filmmaker with 1,890 subscribers. The channel also featured auditions from Sam Worthington, Rupert Friend, and Anthony Starr.

Henry Cavill's performance has garnered significant attention over the years, with many in the industry, including Casino Royale director Martin Campbell, praising his audition as "tremendous." Campbell reportedly favored Cavill for the role, but other decision-makers opted for Daniel Craig instead.

Despite missing out on James Bond, Cavill embraced a spy role in the film Argylle, where he starred alongside a talented cast including Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, and Catherine O'Hara. Unfortunately, the movie did not fare well with critics, receiving a disappointing 4/10 from IGN.

Cavill's career remains diverse and successful, with notable roles such as Superman in the DC universe, Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's The Witcher, and numerous other acclaimed performances.
