Hearthstone is gearing up for an exhilarating Year of the Raptor in 2025, bringing a slew of surprises, fresh gameplay mechanics, and exciting new features. Fans can look forward to the usual trio of expansions, Mini-Sets, and Battlegrounds seasons rolling out throughout the year. The Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set was a hit among players, fueling Blizzard's enthusiasm to keep the momentum going. They’ve even unveiled a roadmap that offers a glimpse into what's in store for the game in the near future.
What Does the Year of the Raptor Bring to Hearthstone?
One of the most anticipated updates is the revamp of the Arena mode. This classic feature, a staple since Hearthstone's early days, is set to launch its refreshed version soon, aiming to attract a new generation of players.
Cosmetics are also set for an upgrade. Expect to see new Mythic skins, Signature cards, and the introduction of Pets as part of a novel system for acquiring cosmetics. While Blizzard has kept some details under wraps, the excitement around these new additions is palpable.
The Year of the Raptor kicks off with the first expansion, "Into the Emerald Dream." Card reveals are slated to start next week, and there’s already an in-game celebration underway. By completing the Event Track, players can earn rewards such as The Great Dark Beyond Epic cards, packs from the new expansion, and a unique Raptor Herald card.
What Else Is Coming?
In addition to the expansion, a new evolving game board will debut, themed around the Year of the Raptor. This board will remain in Hearthstone throughout the year, receiving visual and audio updates with each new expansion, enhancing the gameplay experience.
The Core Set is also getting a refresh. Classic cards are making a comeback with some tweaks, and new cards will be added, promising a refreshed and dynamic gameplay experience. With all these exciting updates on the horizon, now might be the perfect time to dive back into Hearthstone. Don’t have it yet? You can grab it from the Google Play Store.
