In a world teeming with fascinating elements, Monster Hunter Wilds offers players unique interactions and rewarding challenges. If you're eager to unlock the Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy or achievement, this guide will set you on the right path.
How to Unlock the Monster (Squid) Hunter Trophy/Achievement in Monster Hunter Wilds
While fishing might not be crucial for your main storyline progression, it provides an engaging side activity and its own questline. Completing these tasks will equip you with the necessary tools to tackle this trophy and achievement.
Start by progressing through Kanya's fishing questline, which involves completing several side quests:
Seeking the Goldenfish: Head to the Scarlet Forest, Area 6, to catch the Goldenfish in cave pools. Use either the Golden Bughead or Common Wood Minnow baits. The Fallow weather state increases the chance of the fish appearing.
Fishing for Favor: Next, catch the Gravid Bowfin at the Scarlet Forest base camp during the Plenty weather condition. Equip the Emerald Jitterbait and cast your line.
The Catch of a Lifetime!: Kanya will then ask you to catch a Whopper. Any large fish that triggers the reeling minigame will do, but Tuna are common in the lake at Area 17 of the Scarlet Forest. Be patient and reel it in.
After completing these quests, Kanya will introduce the Razzle Dazzle quest, where you can finally obtain the Monster (Squid) Hunter trophy or achievement. Follow these steps:
- Head to the Scarlet Forest, Area 17, under Downpour in Inclemency weather. You can wait at the grill or rest at your camp to change the weather conditions.
- Walk into the deep end of the lake until you can go no further. Look for squids swimming around. If none are present, fast travel to another location and back to encourage spawning.
- Equip the Tentacle Jig provided by Kanya and start fishing. While the quest requires catching the Grand Escunite, your goal for the trophy/achievement is the Goliath Squid. Target the squids with glowing blue shells.
- If you hook a squid and the reeling minigame begins, you're on the right track. Keep fighting and reel it in when it tires. Once close enough to shore, you'll pull it out and secure the trophy or achievement.
