GAMM Unveils Largest Italian Museum Dedicated to Gaming

Rome's newest attraction: GAMM, the Game Museum! Now open to the public in Piazza della Repubblica, this expansive museum is the culmination of Marco Accordi Rickards' vision – a writer, journalist, professor, and CEO of Vigamus.

Rickards, a passionate advocate for video game preservation, describes GAMM as an immersive journey blending history, technology, and interactive gameplay. Built upon the legacy of Vigamus, a Rome-based gaming museum that has welcomed over two million visitors since 2012, GAMM boasts 700 square meters across two floors, divided into three captivating thematic sections.

Explore GAMM's Interactive Worlds:

  • GAMMDOME: A dynamic digital playground featuring interactive exhibits and authentic gaming artifacts, including consoles and donated items. This area embodies the 4E Concept: Experience, Exhibition, Education, and Entertainment.

  • PARC (Path of Arcadia): Journey back to the golden age of arcade gaming, experiencing classic coin-op games from the late 70s, 80s, and early 90s.

  • HIP (Historical Playground): Dive deep into game design and mechanics, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the evolution of gaming through interactive gameplay analysis.

Visit GAMM:

GAMM is open Monday to Thursday, 9:30 AM – 7:30 PM, and Fridays and Saturdays until 11:30 PM. Tickets cost 15 euros. Visit the official GAMM website for more information.
