Freedom Wars Remastered throws players into intense battles against formidable Abductors. To conquer these towering foes, mastering the game's arsenal is crucial. This guide focuses on acquiring and effectively using the Flare Knife, a valuable tool for severing Abductor parts.

Acquiring the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife is surprisingly accessible early on. Once you reach Level 003 Code Clearance, visit Zakka in The Warren. This vendor sells a range of combat items, including the Flare Knife, for 3,000 Entitlement Points. Equip it via the Loadout menu in the Personal Responsibility Portal, selecting an available Combat Item slot.

Utilizing the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife is a reusable combat tool specifically designed for severing Abductor limbs. This is particularly useful for players favoring Polearms or Heavy Melee weapons, offering a limb-severing option without switching to Light Melee weapons. However, remember it's a single-use item per operation; you'll need to repurchase it for subsequent missions.

To use it, lock onto a severable Abductor part and use your Thorn to grapple onto it. With the Flare Knife equipped, a severing option will appear. A quick-time event (QTE) will initiate, requiring rapid button presses to successfully sever the limb. Be aware that Abductors might interrupt the process by leaping or crashing.

Cooperative play enhances Flare Knife effectiveness. Repeatedly snaring the Abductor with teammates significantly simplifies the severing process.
