Final Fantasy XIV Mobile, a mobile version of the hit MMORPG that initially faced a rocky start but transformed into the critically acclaimed Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, is generating significant excitement among fans. According to a recent listing on the Chinese iOS App Store, the eagerly awaited mobile release is set for August 29th.

When Final Fantasy XIV first launched in 2010, it was met with overwhelmingly negative reviews. The reception was so poor that Square Enix decided to overhaul the game entirely, leading to the rebirth of the MMORPG as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. Since then, the game has maintained its popularity through regular expansions and updates, making the prospect of a mobile version thrilling for fans, including our own Shaun Walton who has provided an in-depth look at what we know about the mobile release so far.

The big question on everyone's mind is how feature-complete Final Fantasy XIV Mobile will be upon release. A late August release date seems highly feasible, although given that Tencent's Lightspeed is handling the port, an earlier release for Chinese players could also be possible. A global release is expected to follow closely behind. According to a recent interview with series veteran Naoki Yoshida, Final Fantasy XIV Mobile has been in the works for a while, suggesting a polished and well-crafted port is on the horizon.
