Fake Elden Ring Nightreign Invites Circulated by Scammers

Bandai Namco has started sending out emails to verify participation in the closed testing of Elden Ring: Nightreign, set to take place from February 14–17, 2025. These lucky players will be among the first to dive into the game, which features a thrilling three-person cooperative mode, as detailed in the official correspondence.

Given the immense popularity of Nightreign, it's no surprise that scammers are capitalizing on the hype by circulating fake testing invitations. Reports have surfaced of players receiving emails designed to mimic official Bandai Namco notifications, purportedly inviting them to test the game. These fraudulent emails include links to counterfeit websites that resemble Steam's interface.

Victims who click on these links and log in are at risk of losing access to their accounts. In some instances, players have even received similar scam messages from their own friends' compromised accounts. Fortunately, some affected users have successfully regained access to their accounts by reaching out to Steam support.

It is crucial to exercise extreme caution with links and to verify the authenticity of the sources before taking any action. When in doubt, always turn to official channels and avoid clicking on suspicious links.

In a significant change for the Elden Ring series, players will no longer be able to leave messages in Elden Ring: Nightreign. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision in an interview, noting that the roughly forty-minute gaming sessions in Nightreign do not provide enough time for players to leave or check messages.

"Since there isn't enough time for sending or reading messages during sessions, which last roughly forty minutes, we disabled the messaging feature," Ishizaki stated.
