A new Digimon video game titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger has seemingly leaked through GameStop, just ahead of tonight's PlayStation State of Play presentation. The leak was first spotted by Gematsu, who shared listings that now allow interested players to pre-order the game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Although the GameStop pages lack any images or gameplay details, an official announcement might be imminent.

The timing of this leak is particularly notable as it comes just hours before Sony's latest State of Play presentation, which is set to feature 40 minutes of content. While the lineup remains undisclosed, the appearance of Digimon Story: Time Stranger pre-order listings suggests that fans might see the digital monster series featured during the event.

The Digimon Story series has a rich history, beginning with the original Digimon Story for the Nintendo DS in the mid-2000s. Since then, numerous installments have been released across various platforms, with notable recent entries including Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth in 2015 and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory in 2017. A Complete Edition bundling both Cyber Sleuth titles was released in 2019.

In the Digimon Story games, players are typically transported into the Digimon universe to befriend and collaborate with these digital creatures in RPG-style battles. While franchise producer Kazumashu Habu teased a new Story game in 2022, fans have been eagerly awaiting a new installment. Although Digimon Survive provided some entertainment in the interim, the potential reveal of Digimon Story: Time Stranger could finally satisfy fans' longing for a true continuation of the series.
