Special Room and More Exclusively for Switch 2

Deltarune's Switch 2 version was officially announced during Nintendo's April 2 Switch 2 Direct presentation. This enhanced edition will bundle Chapters 3 and 4 while introducing exclusive features designed specifically for Nintendo's next-gen hardware.

In a Fangamer newsletter, creator Toby Fox revealed the Switch 2 version will include a unique room leveraging the Joy-Con controllers' mouse functionality. Fox explained, "We've created a small SPECIAL ROOM that utilizes MOUSE CONTROLS ACROSS TWO CONTROLLERS simultaneously - an experience only possible on Nintendo Switch 2!"

Players on other platforms will still access this special room, though with modified controls. The Switch 2 version also supports save file transfers from existing Deltarune Chapters 1-2 Switch demo versions.

Future Deltarune Chapters Will Be Free

The newsletter confirmed Deltarune Chapters 1-4 will launch at $24.99. While Chapters 1 (2018) and 2 (2021) were previously free-to-play, Fox has now clarified all future chapters will be added as free updates to the base purchase. "My goal is for players to feel this game becomes an increasingly incredible value as we complete more chapters," Fox stated.

Additionally, the complete soundtrack will be available on Steam for $14.99, containing over 150 tracks from Chapters 3-4. Like the game content, future musical additions will be included at no extra cost. This approach ensures players receive maximum value from their purchase.

DELTARUNE Chapters 1-4 launches June 5, 2025 alongside the Nintendo Switch 2, with versions available for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC.
