Treyarch is developing a much-requested in-game challenge tracker for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This feature, present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, was notably absent from Black Ops 6 at launch, disappointing many players. While a release date remains unannounced, its arrival is anticipated alongside the upcoming Season 2 update later this month.
A recent January 9th update addressed several bugs affecting the game's UI and audio, and boosted XP rewards for the Red Light, Green Light multiplayer mode. Significantly, Treyarch reversed a controversial Zombies mode change from January 3rd, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawn rates in Directed Mode following player feedback.
Challenge Tracking Feature Confirmed
Treyarch confirmed the challenge tracker's development via Twitter, responding directly to a fan inquiry. The feature's inclusion is highly anticipated, particularly by players pursuing Mastery camos. Functionality is expected to mirror Modern Warfare 3, providing real-time challenge progress updates within the game's UI.
Additional Improvements on the Horizon
In another Twitter interaction, Treyarch revealed that separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes are also under development, addressing another player concern. This will allow for customized HUD configurations without needing to switch settings between game modes.
