Bandai Namco Reveals Digimon Alysion: Digital Card Game

Bandai Namco is taking another exciting step into the mobile gaming world with Digimon Alysion, a digital adaptation of the popular Digimon Card Game. This free-to-play title is set to launch on both Android and iOS platforms, though an exact release date remains undisclosed.

The announcement came during Digimon Con 2025, held on March 19th. Alongside Digimon Alysion, Bandai Namco shared updates on other projects, such as the continuation of Digimon Liberator with a new arc in April 2025. They also celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime with a special video and unveiled a new project called Digimon Adventure: Beyond. Fans can also look forward to a new RPG, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, coming to consoles and PC.

Digimon Alysion: More Than Just a Card Game

Digimon Alysion isn't merely a digital version of the physical Digimon Card Game. It introduces a unique feature called 'DigiAly' cards, which are exclusive to this mobile version. Alongside these, the game will include new Digimon and characters, adding fresh elements to the gameplay.

The character lineup showcased on the game's website features an all-female cast, which is an unusual choice for a digital card game. This direction has sparked some skepticism among fans, particularly those who were expecting a more faithful adaptation of the physical game.

This isn't Bandai Namco's first foray into Digimon mobile gaming. Their previous attempts have not been successful, leading to some hesitation about the potential success of Digimon Alysion. Despite this, anticipation remains high, and a closed beta test is currently in the planning stages, though details are yet to be revealed.
