Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Global Release Schedule Announced

Ubisoft has officially announced the global release times for the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Shadows. In a departure from previous entries in the series and other Ubisoft titles, Assassin’s Creed Shadows boasts a unified global release date with no option for early access through additional payment.

For players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will launch at 12am local time on March 20. However, PC players will experience different release times depending on their platform of choice—Steam or Ubisoft's own platform, Ubi Connect. Pre-load is already available across all platforms, ensuring a smooth start on launch day.

The stakes are high for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, with Ubisoft facing significant pressure after a series of delays and the underwhelming sales of last year's Star Wars Outlaws. The company has also endured high-profile flops, layoffs, studio closures, and game cancellations leading up to this release, making Assassin’s Creed Shadows a critical title for Ubisoft's future.

IGN’s review of Assassin’s Creed Shadows awarded it an impressive 8/10, praising the game for refining its open-world mechanics: “By sharpening the edges of its existing systems, Assassin’s Creed Shadows creates one of the best versions of the open-world style it’s been honing for the last decade.”
