Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 5080 Gaming PC Launched at $2,399

Author: Emily May 15,2025

Starting today, Dell is offering an incredible deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC, now equipped with the cutting-edge GeForce RTX 5080 GPU for just $2,399.99, including shipping. This is one of the most competitive prices you'll find for an RTX 5080 equipped prebuilt system, especially considering that prices have been on the rise across the board since the RTX 50 series debuted in January. At Dell, the next RTX 5080 prebuilt option jumps significantly to over $4,000. And if you're thinking about building your own PC, good luck finding a standalone RTX 5080 GPU; you're likely to spend as much on the GPU alone as you would on this fully equipped system.

$2,399.99 at Alienware

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC comes packed with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The current-gen Intel Core Ultra 7 265F Meteor Lake CPU boasts an impressive max turbo frequency of 5.3GHz, with 20 cores and a 30MB cache. It's efficiently cooled by a robust 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler, and the entire system is powered by a generously equipped 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

The RTX 5080 is one of the three new Blackwell graphics cards that have hit the market (and are notoriously hard to find). In our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE review, Jackie notes that "If you already own a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 might not offer a significant upgrade – its performance edge over the RTX 4080 is minimal, though the enhanced frames from DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation do improve gameplay in supported titles. However, for gamers with older GPUs looking for a substantial performance boost, the RTX 5080 delivers, particularly if you're keen on Nvidia's AI enhancements."

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell unveiled the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis maintains a design similar to the 2024 R16 model but includes minor aesthetic and cooling enhancements along with updated components. The I/O panel is now positioned at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window extends across the entire side panel, eliminating side panel vents. Instead, air intakes are located at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design that typically results in a less dusty interior. Internally, the system boasts a refreshed motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply, tailored for the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.

RTX 5080 and 5090 GPUs Are Sold Out Everywhere

The first batch of Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards sold out within an hour of being available for preorder. The initial release included the high-end RTX 5090 and RTX 5080, followed by the RTX 5070 Ti in February. Unfortunately, prebuilt gaming PCs with these GPUs are facing similar shortages, either being out of stock, increasing in price, or experiencing extended delivery delays.
