The gaming community has been buzzing with excitement and speculation following the announcement of Reburn, a new studio formed by former members of 4A Games Ukraine, known for the beloved Metro series. Addressing the confusion and questions about the future of Metro, 4A Games has issued a statement reaffirming their dedication to expanding the franchise. This comes in the wake of Reburn's reveal of their first project, La Quimera, which sparked curiosity and concern among fans about the direction of the Metro series.

In their official statement, 4A Games congratulated Reburn on La Quimera while firmly asserting their continued focus on the Metro series. "We remain the team responsible for bringing you the beloved Metro games," they emphasized. "Our efforts toward the next Metro installment continue in partnership with Dmitry Glukhovsky, guided by the same visionaries and talent that have shaped the series since its inception."
Alongside their commitment to the Metro sequel, 4A Games hinted at the development of a brand-new intellectual property (IP), though details remain under wraps. They proudly highlighted their Ukrainian roots and the diversity of their team, noting that around 150 out of their over 200 members are based in Kyiv, with additional operations in Sliema, Malta, and remote work arrangements.
Clarifying the organizational split, 4A Games provided context on their journey post-Metro Exodus and its DLC. "Following the completion of Metro Exodus and its DLC, we collaborated closely with our partners at 4A Games Ukraine through outsourcing," they explained. "Post-Exodus, we founded 4A Games Limited in Kyiv, absorbing roughly 50 more colleagues to sustain our momentum. Simultaneously, 4A Games Ukraine embarked on their standalone journey with La Quimera, eventually rebranding as Reburn."
Since the launch of Metro Exodus in early 2019, the interest in the series has only grown, fueled by sparse updates. While spin-offs and the Enhanced Edition have kept the community engaged, fans are eagerly awaiting the next installment in Dmitry Glukhovsky's dystopian universe. Supported by Embracer Group (formerly THQ Nordic), 4A Games teased a new Metro title in 2019, hinting at a "202X" release before going quiet. Now, it appears that the anticipation may soon be rewarded.
