Among Us 3D, Separate from Among Us VR, Reveals Release Date

Exciting news for fans of the hit game Among Us—the much-anticipated Among Us 3D has officially unveiled its release date, and it's closer than you might think! Scheduled to launch on May 6, 2025, this thrilling development was shared by the game's developer, Schell Games, and publisher, Innersloth, via an announcement on the official Among Us 3D Twitter (X) account on April 16.

Originally known as Among Us VR, the game has been rebranded to Among Us 3D to cater to a wider audience with its cross-play multiplayer feature. This rebranding also introduces a new currency called Stardust, which offers players more flexibility as it never expires. Among Us 3D isn't just a name change; it brings a host of new features to the table, including a permanent Tag Mode with the new Infected role, native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, fresh and returning mini-games, and an array of new cosmetics to customize your gameplay experience.

It's important to clarify that Among Us 3D stands separate from the original Among Us VR, which was released back in 2022. Cross-play between these two games won't be possible, as explained on Schell Games' website. The developers stated, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."
