Fans of the time-twisting RPG Reverse: 1999 have a double treat coming their way: a livestream on April 18th that will showcase the upcoming 1.5th anniversary content as well as a sneak peek at version 2.5, titled 'Showdown in Chinatown'. This livestream marks the first comprehensive reveal of what's in store for the next update.
The event will be hosted in-character by Captain Regulus and the new character, Officer Liang Yue, in their charming chibi forms. Viewers can look forward to exciting giveaways, including codes, and a competition where participants have the chance to win a Nintendo Switch 2.
For those familiar with the Chinese version, 'Showdown in Chinatown' promises to be a thrilling homage to Hong Kong martial arts movies, featuring a gripping crime thriller narrative centered around capturing an arcanist vigilante.
Character-wise, Officer Liang Yue, with her array of martial arts skills, will be infiltrating the movie set of another new character, Noire. Noire, a wheelchair-bound perfectionist director, uses her unique ability to puppet her ideal actors against enemies. Additionally, Loggerhead, a character with a camera for a head, is also set to appear.
While the specifics for international versions of Reverse: 1999 will be clarified during the livestream, fans can expect plenty of nods to iconic figures like the Shaw Brothers and John Woo in version 2.5.
