Russian scanwords stand unparalleled worldwide. No other language offers such rich literary clues, witty humor, or timely cultural references woven into standard crossword grids. Russians cherish words deeply—preserving them, honoring them, and treasuring them as linguistic gems.

The app features diverse scanwords—ranging from beginner-friendly to challenging, with photo puzzles, traditional clues, and associative hints like "one word" or Elder Fur-style prompts. Each magazine includes an English-Russian puzzle and a uniquely designed "holey" scanword (you’ll quickly grasp its name). Meet our cheerful mascot family on every page—we’d love for you to join!

Every scanword is completely free. This annual collection delivers 52-53 issues weekly, each containing 20 puzzles. The entire year’s archive uses just 50 MB—optimized with compact images and text-only files to save your phone space.

Solve puzzles offline once issues are downloaded. New editions arrive every Friday, with optional notifications at 12:00 local time. Updates auto-download upon opening the app. Manage magazines individually or bulk-download via Settings.

Core features—including unlimited scanwords—remain free, supported by discreet advertising: one page banner and an occasional pre-puzzle interstitial ad. Importantly, ads never disrupt solving. Watch rewarded videos to earn free hints.

Readers can optionally disable ads permanently via: a) a one-time purchase, b) ad-free subscriptions (with unlimited hints), or c) bulk hint purchases. Explore these options in the Shop.
