Piston: Your Onboard Car Diagnostic Tool

Is your Check Engine Light (MIL) on? Piston reads and displays Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and Freeze Frame data, providing crucial insights to pinpoint and resolve the issue. You'll need a Bluetooth or WiFi ELM327 adapter—simply connect it to your vehicle's OBD2 port, and Piston will guide you through the setup. Instructions are available on the Home page after initial installation or within the Settings menu.

Compatibility:

Piston requires a separate ELM327 adapter (Bluetooth or WiFi) and supports OBD-II (OBDII, OBD2) and EOBD standards. OBD2 compliance is mandated for US vehicles from 1996 onward. In the EU, EOBD was mandatory for gasoline vehicles from 2001 and diesel vehicles from 2004. Australia and New Zealand require OBD2 for gasoline cars from 2006 and diesel cars from 2007.

Important: Piston only accesses data your vehicle provides through the OBD2 standard.
