Dead Sails Kraken Boss Guide
Your journey begins in the heart of town, across from the Gun Store and Hospital and in front of the Trading Hut. Start by ditching any excess loot and arming yourself. I recommend a Rifle—it's only $75 and packs enough punch to fend off most enemies, at least temporarily. Don't forget to stock up on coal to fuel your boat; it's got an old-school engine, after all.
The next town is 10,000m away. Just fire up the engine and you're on your way. You can stop to take out Zombies and Drowned for loot, but it's not always worth it as the houses on the sides don't hold much value. To restart the ship, simply add more coal. Don't let the worm on the right side spook you. Wait until the second safe zone to sell your loot, but watch out for Big Foot and Zombie mobs along the riverbanks.
After reaching the second safe zone/town, you'll encounter burning buildings teeming with mobs. Clear them out if you're with friends, but solo players might find it a waste of time due to scattered spawn points. Around 12,000m, you'll find a castle-like house filled with Drowned, but also stocked with Shotgun ammo and other valuable loot. Use it wisely.
Dead Sails Kraken Tips And Tricks
By now, you're familiar with the routine—kill, loot, repeat, and hope the enemy falls. That's the core gameplay loop. To become a pro, focus on efficiency. Use the boat as your main inventory, emptying your bag when you return to save time and space.
A key strategy I found helpful while crafting this Dead Sails Kraken guide is stacking Zombies near the incinerator. It's tempting to rush out of those backwater towns, but efficient loot stacking pays off. Running low on fuel? Just toss a few Zombies in and you're set.
Another tip: be cautious in Sheriff's offices. They often harbor a higher concentration of mobs, but also offer substantial rewards in weapons and ammo. I kept my shotgun stocked for a long time by having a friend clear the ground floor while we explored each town.
Remember to conserve your ammo, weapons, fuel, and medkits for the fortress at around 25,000m. It's still under construction, making it a prime spot for ambushes. I wouldn't recommend going alone; a group of at least three, ideally five, is best. Be efficient when collecting loot.
Similarly, avoid engaging Big Feet after 30,000m. They're tough, hit hard, and require a lot of ammo to take down safely. Don't linger too long and plan your stops wisely. Loot isn't everything, even if it's hard to admit.
The town after 50,000m is one of my favorite farming spots. It's packed with at least two dozen Drowned and Zombies. If you have friends with Shotguns or a Sawnoff, it's an efficient way to gather corpses for fuel. Coordinate with your team to prep the bodies for loading quickly.
How to Defeat the Kraken Boss in Dead Sails Kraken
Before facing the Kraken, sell everything you have in the final safe zone and stock up on ammo, weapons, and medkits. Don't go easy on the Zombies and Drowned. Have at least 8-10 corpses ready to use as fuel during this final stretch. At around 100,000m, you'll reach open waters and be ready to confront the beast. The sign of its approach is the skies darkening.
As the Kraken emerges, EVERYONE MUST TARGET a tentacle. The boss has a lot of health, and each tentacle can attack and cause damage if not repelled. If you have five people on board, form a pentagram-like shape and each person focuses on a tentacle.
Watch out for the water splash ability, which deals AoE damage and is telegraphed by the Kraken winding back and creating a water trail with the tentacle. Use medkits liberally, as some damage is unavoidable.
Lastly, be cautious of the Roar AoE, which causes minor damage but is unblockable and seems to give the boss a slight damage buff. You'll see it as white concentric circles emanating from the tentacle that used the ability.
As you can see, it's not as hard as it seems. That's the complete Dead Sails Kraken Guide. To speed through the boss even faster, grab one of our Dead Sails codes and see how far and how fast you can go. Good luck and smooth sailing!
