Metaphor: ReFantazio receives Update 1.11, enhancing user experience and addressing bugs. This minor update introduces improved menu navigation across all platforms, including streamlined party management and item selection. PC players also benefit from several bug fixes impacting camera control, framerate, and controller responsiveness.
Launched in October 2024 to phenomenal success, Metaphor: ReFantazio, initially known as Project Re:Fantasy, achieved a million global sales on its first day, setting a new record for Atlus. The game, set in the medieval fantasy realm of Euchronia and following a young boy's quest for kingship, has garnered widespread critical acclaim, winning numerous Game of the Year awards and a perfect 100 score on OpenCritic.
Update 1.11 simplifies navigation by allowing party changes and formation adjustments from both the main and equip menus. A new "jump to category" function in the item menu accelerates gameplay. The PC version receives specific fixes addressing camera movement, framerate inconsistencies, and controller input issues, demonstrating Atlus' commitment to post-launch support.
While a sequel isn't currently in development, director Katsura Hashino expressed his hope for a future Metaphor: ReFantazio series, envisioning it alongside Persona and Shin Megami Tensei as a major JRPG franchise. With Atlus' recent success, anticipation builds for future announcements, particularly concerning the long-awaited Persona 6, especially as 2025 marks the ninth anniversary of Persona 5.
