Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Update 1.2 Adds Steam Workshop, Barber Shops

Warhorse Studios has unveiled a major free update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II with version 1.2, bringing exciting new features to the game. This update includes native mod integration through the Steam Workshop and a brand-new barber shop system, enhancing both customization and gameplay.

The Steam Workshop integration streamlines the modding experience by allowing players to download and install mods directly within the game, eliminating the need for third-party platforms. However, this functionality relies on mod creators uploading their work to Steam Workshop. Currently, only a few mods are available, such as:

  • Free Saving: Grants players unlimited saves by replenishing the "Saviour Schnapps" item whenever it’s used or lost.
  • Helmet of Henry VIII: Adds a horned helmet inspired by historical designs.
  • Tourist: Disables NPC reactions to trespassing, allowing access to otherwise restricted story locations.
  • Pebbles the Zebra: Transforms your horse into a zebra with a unique visual effect.

While the mod selection is currently limited, the modding community is expected to grow quickly. With over a thousand mods already on Nexus Mods, many creators are likely to share their work on both platforms. Although Steam Workshop may not reach the same scale as Nexus Mods, it’s anticipated that popular mods will soon be available there.

In addition to mod support, players can now visit NPC barbers in Rattay and Kuttenberg to change their hairstyle or beard design. Visiting a barber not only refreshes your look but also temporarily boosts the protagonist's Charisma stat, regardless of the chosen style.

Update 1.2 extends well beyond these additions, as detailed in the extensive changelog on the game’s official website. Warhorse Studios has implemented over a thousand fixes and improvements across nearly every aspect of the game. These enhancements include balancing adjustments, refined animations, and better NPC behavior, with the crime system being fine-tuned for greater accuracy.

Other notable updates include:

  • Revised daily schedules for NPCs, making their routines more realistic.
  • Enhanced horse riding mechanics and horse trading systems.
  • Improved character visuals and overall performance, particularly in Kuttenberg (the largest city in the game) and during large-scale battles.

The studio plans to provide more in-depth information on these changes during a developer livestream scheduled for next Thursday. Warhorse Studios remains committed to supporting the game, with three paid DLC expansions planned for release in spring, summer, and winter.

With the introduction of Steam Workshop integration, new cosmetic options, and a host of gameplay refinements, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues to evolve, offering players an even richer medieval experience.
