GTA V Enhanced: A Visual Evolution Over a Decade

The much-anticipated PC release of *Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced*, Rockstar's next-generation update of the iconic open-world game, is now available. This new version introduces significant graphical enhancements and new features, such as full DualSense controller support, providing an improved experience for PC gamers.

Among the standout improvements are ray-traced reflections, revamped vehicle designs, and a series of smaller tweaks that significantly boost the game's visual quality. The popular YouTube channel GameV recently released a side-by-side comparison video, demonstrating the evolution of the game's graphics over the past 12 years. The video showcases that the most noticeable differences occur during rainy nights or in shadowy environments, where the advanced global illumination and ray-traced reflections truly excel. However, the visual distinctions become less evident under sunny conditions when comparing the base game to its enhanced version.

Despite a strong launch, with over 187,000 concurrent players on Steam—surpassing the recent peak of 184,000 for the standard edition—the reception has been mixed. Currently, the game holds a 56% positive review rating on Steam. Many players have questioned the need for this update, citing the relatively subtle visual improvements. There have also been complaints about issues with DualSense controller functionality and glitches when transferring characters from the original GTA Online. While some players have successfully transferred their characters, others continue to struggle with ongoing bugs.
