Crypt of the NecroDancer Now on Android via Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll, the leading anime streaming service, has just released the critically acclaimed rhythm roguelike, Crypt of the NecroDancer, on Android devices. Simply titled "Crunchyroll: NecroDancer" on mobile, this beat-matching adventure offers a unique gameplay experience.

Originally launched on PC in April 2015 by Brace Yourself Games, the game previously saw limited releases on iOS (2016) and Android (2021). This Crunchyroll-backed release, however, brings a significantly enhanced version to both iOS and Android platforms, boasting a wealth of new content.

What awaits you in Crypt of the NecroDancer?

Players take on the role of Cadence, a treasure hunter's daughter, venturing into a rhythmically challenging crypt to find her missing parent. The roguelike nature ensures each playthrough is unique. Fifteen playable characters, each with distinct styles and challenges, await. Danny Baranowsky's original soundtrack provides the pulse to the action, demanding players synchronize their moves and attacks to the beat. Failure to keep the rhythm results in… well, let's just say it's game over. Expect encounters with a diverse cast of dancing enemies, from skeletons to hip-hop dragons!

More Than Just a Port

This mobile edition goes beyond a simple port. Crunchyroll and the developers have added remixes, fresh content, and even crossover skins featuring characters from the popular Danganronpa anime series. Cross-platform multiplayer and mod support are also included. Further enriching the experience, DLC featuring Hatsune Miku and the Synchrony expansion is planned for later this year.

Crunchyroll subscribers can access Crypt of the NecroDancer immediately via the Google Play Store. For more gaming news, check out our upcoming coverage of the Star Trek Lower Decks x Doctor Who crossover event!
