*Build Defense* on *Roblox* blends the creativity of building with the thrill of survival, facing off against monsters, tornados, bombs, and aliens. While it might remind you of *Minecraft* at a glance, it's more akin to the original *Fortnite*. Whether you're a fan of one or the other, *Build Defense* promises fun and challenges in equal measure. This Beginner’s Guide is here to help you master the game from the get-go.
Build Defense Beginner’s Guide
Here are some essential tips that we wish we'd known when starting out. Implementing these will not only make the game more enjoyable but also help you progress more quickly.
The object of the game is to survive…

When you're thrown into your world and onto your plot of land, you might think the goal is to protect your plot at all costs. But that's not quite right. **The main goal is to survive, or in other words, not to die.** The game will throw various hazards at you, and your job is to outlast them. While building a defensive structure on your plot is the ideal strategy, you can also just roam the world until the threat passes (a tactic we've tried, and it works!). Every time you survive, you earn a "Win" and some in-game currency, which is crucial for progression. So, keep an eye on those screen messages and focus on staying alive.
… dying is completely normal

**Don't stress if you die.** It's a common occurrence and has minimal consequences. You'll respawn immediately, lose your items, and fail the current wave, but none of these setbacks are game-enders. You can repurchase your weapons and items, and your structures remain intact against monster attacks and disasters. Another wave comes every two minutes, giving you another shot at survival. In essence, all you're losing is a bit of time.
Build high, not low

At first, we tried encircling our plot with walls, but that didn't hold up well. The problem was finding a way to enter and exit without leaving a gap for monsters. The solution? **Construct a tall staircase leading to a sky-high platform.** When night falls, ascend and wait it out safely. Monsters attempting to climb will likely fall, and those reaching the top can be met with a welcoming committee of turrets. This strategy is nearly foolproof and should see you through most nights.
Don’t just build, explore!

There's a whole world beyond your plot to explore. You can visit other players, trade ores, and undertake quests. While some quests require a certain number of Wins, others, like the **Gingerbread’s House quest**, are immediately accessible. Completing these quests not only adds variety to your gameplay but also unlocks new building materials.
The “Shop” isn’t just for premium items

As you advance, don't overlook the Shop. **Most items are purchasable with in-game currency.** You'll need to rack up some Wins first, so give the game a good play before shopping. Also, remember to join the Swiftplay Roblox group and engage with the game through likes, favorites, and follows for a free gift.
When you’re ready, move to the next area

Once you've accumulated 190 Wins, you're ready to transition to the next area and start anew. You'll encounter new challenges, quests, and building opportunities.
**That's all there is to it. Enjoy surviving and building in *Build Defense*. Don't forget to check out our *Build Defense* codes for some awesome in-game freebies.**
