The Battle of Polytopia has injected a thrilling new competitive element: Weekly Challenges! This exciting addition to the 4X strategy game provides a fresh way to test your skills and strategizing prowess.
From Randomness to Rigorous Competition
Polytopia’s charm lies in its inherent randomness—ever-changing enemies, resources, and maps keep each playthrough unpredictable. The free update introduces a structured competitive layer. Each week, all players face identical conditions: the same map, tribe, and gameplay parameters. The challenge? Maximize your score within 20 turns. You get one attempt per day, for a maximum of seven attempts weekly.
This new feature offers a unique opportunity to try tribes you might not own. The game boasts 16 tribes—four included in the base game, and twelve more available for purchase. However, in Weekly Challenges, everyone plays as the same tribe, regardless of ownership.

Will Weekly Challenges Elevate the Battle of Polytopia?
The new mode introduces a League system, adding another layer of depth. Starting in the Entry League, players climb (or descend) based on their weekly performance. The top third advances, the bottom third drops, and the middle remains. Difficulty scales with league progression, starting at Easy in Entry League and culminating in Crazy difficulty AI opponents in Gold League. Skipping a week won't result in demotion, but your ranking will adjust based on others' progress.
