The Chess Tempo app delivers a mobile and tablet-friendly interface for all the features of Chesstempo.com.

Currently supported features:

- CHESS TACTICS TRAINING

- Sharpen your tactical skills by solving over 100,000 puzzles.

- Includes both winning combinations and defensive puzzles.

- Premium members can practice with sophisticated custom sets designed to target their weaknesses, such as:

- Sets focused on a specific tactical motif like pins, forks, or discovered attacks.

- Sets featuring your previous mistakes, letting you re-attempt problems until solved correctly.

- Spaced repetition learning sets that prioritize problems you struggle with over those you solve easily.

- Note: Custom sets can be used on the app but must first be created on the Chesstempo.com website.

- PLAY ONLINE

- Play chess against other Chesstempo users.

- Supports both live and correspondence games.

- Receive a complete post-game analysis after every rated game. Analysis is distributed across a cluster of hundreds of Stockfish instances, delivering high-quality results in seconds.

- Premium members can have tactical puzzles extracted from their rated games, available for solving in the tactics training interface and selectable via the advanced custom sets feature.

- OPENING TRAINING

- Build multiple repertoires for both Black and White.

- Import repertoires from PGN files or by entering moves directly on the board.

- Train your repertoires using spaced repetition.

- Limit training to a specific branch, a single repertoire, or all repertoires of one color.

- Option to restrict training to a defined depth.

- Train on moves that are most resistant to spaced repetition learning.

- Add comments to each position or move, and view comments others have made public.

- Attach engine evaluations (like +=, ?!) or annotations to each move in your repertoire.

- Export your repertoire along with comments and annotations to PGN format.

- View graphs showing your repertoire learning status and history over time.

- Use the opening explorer to choose moves for your repertoire (free members are limited to 10-move depth).

- Premium members can use the cloud engine to analyze any position on demand.

- ENDGAME TRAINING

- Practice endgames with 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7-piece positions extracted from real games.

- Access over 14,000 different positions.

- Free members get 2 positions per day.

- Custom sets that target specific endgame types, your persistent errors, or utilize spaced repetition. Note: Some custom set types must be created on the Chesstempo website before use in the app.

- GUESS THE MOVE

- Learn by playing through master games and get scored on how closely your moves match the master's choices.

- ANALYSIS BOARD

- Analyze positions using our cloud engines (premium membership required). Cloud engines provide high-quality analysis without draining your device's battery. Diamond members can request up to 8 analysis threads, processing many more positions per second than a local engine could handle.

- Set up positions from FEN notation or by arranging pieces with the board editor.

- Review completed tactics problems to fully understand the solution.
