Battle of Sudoku: A Multiplayer Sudoku Showdown!

Love Sudoku? Battle of Sudoku lets you test your skills against other players or teams! The goal remains the classic Sudoku challenge: fill a 9x9 grid with digits so each column, row, and 3x3 subgrid contains all digits from 1 to 9.

Before you begin, choose a difficulty level (1-6, 1 being easiest, 6 hardest). This sets the initial numbers on the grid, which all players must solve simultaneously. Everyone starts with the same puzzle.

Gameplay Modes:

Choose your game mode in the options:

• Show Opponent's Correct Numbers: Every correct number placed by any player is visible to everyone. Only the first player to correctly place a number earns points for that number.
• Hide Opponent's Correct Numbers: Players can't see each other's correct numbers, allowing for the possibility of multiple players earning points for the same number.

Time-Outs and Scoring:

Incorrect numbers result in a time-out (configurable, default 30 seconds). Correct numbers earn points, with higher difficulty levels awarding more points per correct number. Incorrect numbers deduct half the points you'd gain for a correct placement.

Winning the Game:

The game ends when the puzzle is solved. In the mode where correct numbers are visible, the player with the most points wins. If opponent's correct numbers are hidden, the game ends when one player solves the puzzle, though this doesn't grant extra points; others can still win by having fewer incorrect entries.

Team Play:

Team play allows two teams to compete. Join a team (1 or 2) upon entering a game. A minimum of two players per team is required. Points are added to the team's total score, and notes/filled colors are shared within the team, fostering collaborative strategies.

Solving Tools:

A toolbar under the puzzle provides tools:

• Pen Tool: Add potential numbers as notes to empty squares. Clicking a number already present removes it.
• Fill Mode: Change the background color of squares.
