A dedicated fan base continues to enhance the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas experience, creating impressive community-driven remasters despite the official release. Shapatar XT's remaster, featuring over 50 modifications, stands out as a prime example.

The improvements extend beyond simple graphical enhancements. Shapatar XT addressed the infamous "flying trees" glitch by optimizing map loading, providing players with earlier visibility of obstacles. The game's vegetation has also received significant upgrades.

Several mods enrich the game world's realism and dynamism. The addition of environmental details like scattered litter and dynamic NPCs performing actions such as car repairs elevates immersion. The airport now features realistic airplane takeoffs, and improved quality textures for signs, graffiti, and other urban elements enhance visual fidelity.

Gameplay mechanics have also been refined. A new over-the-shoulder camera perspective has been implemented, along with realistic weapon recoil, updated weapon sounds, and bullet impact physics that create holes in surfaces. CJ's arsenal boasts updated weapon models, and he can now freely fire in all directions while driving.

A first-person perspective is also available, complete with detailed vehicle interiors (including visible steering wheels) and realistic weapon handling animations.

The mod includes an expanded car selection, notably featuring a Toyota Supra, with enhanced vehicle detail such as functioning headlights, taillights, and animated engines.

Numerous quality-of-life improvements are also included. The in-game shopping experience has been streamlined, eliminating lengthy animation sequences for clothing changes. CJ now instantly changes outfits, allowing for quicker customization. CJ himself has also received a visual update.
