If you've been following us for a while, you're likely familiar with our parent company's event, Pocket Gamer Connects. One of our highlights at these events is the Big Indie Pitch, where we showcase innovative indie games to a panel of judges. Today, we're excited to spotlight one of the top runners-up that caught our eye: the math-battling roguelike, Talystro!

At first glance, Talystro might seem like just another deckbuilding roguelike—a genre that's currently enjoying immense popularity. However, a closer look reveals what sets it apart. In Talystro, you play as the math mouse, embarking on a quest to overthrow the evil Necrodicer. The game uniquely blends card and dice mechanics, allowing you to build up scores and take down math-based enemies.

So, how does it work? You'll combine dice and cards to reach a target number, which you'll use to eliminate monsters represented by specific numbers. Be mindful, though, as you have a limited number of dice rolls per turn.

ytCrypt of the NecrodicerTalystro boasts a distinctive mix of rubber hose-style animation and a fantasy aesthetic, reminiscent of those math-focused educational games from your childhood. While the game doesn't require advanced math skills, its gameplay is both engaging and easy to understand at a glance.

Talystro is slated for release in March, and its simple yet challenging format—a hallmark of successful deckbuilders—promises to captivate players.
