League of Legends introduces Atakhan: a new neutral objective impacting gameplay significantly. This Epic Monster, the "Bringer of Ruin," debuts in Season 1 of 2025 as part of the Noxus Invasion. Unlike other objectives, Atakhan's form and location are dynamically determined by early-game activity.
Atakhan's Appearance: Time and Location
- Spawn Time: Atakhan always spawns at the 20-minute mark, shifting Baron Nashor's spawn to 25 minutes.
- Pit Location (14-minute mark): Atakhan's battle arena appears in the river. Its position – near Top or Bot lane – depends on which side accumulated more damage and kills in the game's initial phase. This provides teams a 6-minute preparation window. The pit features permanent walls, intensifying combat.
Atakhan's Forms and Buffs
Atakhan exists in two forms, each offering unique buffs:
1. Voracious Atakhan: Appears in games with less early-game aggression.
- Gold Bonus: Team members receive an additional 40 gold for each champion takedown (kills and assists). This bonus persists throughout the match.
- Death Mitigation: Each team member gains a one-time death shield lasting 150 seconds. Instead of dying, they enter stasis for 2 seconds before returning to base after a further 3.5 seconds. The killing blow results in 100 gold and 1 Blood Petal for the enemy team.
2. Ruinous Atakhan: Emerges in high-action games with significant early champion damage and kills.
- Epic Monster Buff: The team receives a 25% bonus to all Epic Monster rewards (including previously slain objectives) for the remainder of the game.
- Blood Petals: Each team member gains 6 Blood Petals.
- Blood Rose Plants: 6 large and 6 small Blood Rose Plants spawn near the pit, providing additional stat boosts upon destruction.
Blood Roses and Petals: A New Resource
Blood Roses, a new Rift plant, appear near champion deaths and Atakhan's pit, and after Ruinous Atakhan's defeat. They grant Blood Petals, a stacking buff providing:
- XP: 25 XP (increased up to 100% for players with low K/D/A).
- Adaptive Force: 1 Adaptive Force (converts to AD or AP).
There are small (1 Petal) and large (3 Petals) Blood Roses. Atakhan's introduction adds a new layer of strategic depth to League of Legends, requiring teams to adapt their approaches based on the evolving in-game dynamics.
