In Hyper Light Breaker, mastering the game involves gathering seven distinct resources essential for unlocking gear, securing permanent upgrades, boosting survivability, and expanding your character lineup. While the methods to acquire these resources might not be immediately clear, and their purposes might initially confuse players, this comprehensive guide aims to demystify their acquisition and utility, ensuring you have a robust understanding of how to leverage them in your gameplay journey.
You can always keep an eye on your collected resources by navigating to the items tab within the inventory menu.
How to Get & Use Bright Blood in Hyper Light Breaker
Bright Blood is the most abundant resource you'll encounter in Hyper Light Breaker. You can gather it by defeating enemies, smashing destructible objects, and cracking open crates scattered throughout the Overgrowth. Additionally, you can boost your Bright Blood reserves by selling unwanted gear to vendors in the Hub.
Utilize your Bright Blood to:
- Loot Blades and Rails from fallen foes in the Overgrowth.
- Unlock Stashes and other valuable crates in the Overgrowth.
- Purchase new gear from vendors in both the Overgrowth and the Hub.
- Enhance your gear at the Hub's vendors.
How to Get & Use Gold Ration in Hyper Light Breaker
Gold Rations are earned by completing Cycles in Hyper Light Breaker. Initially, you'll likely complete Cycles by exhausting your four Rezes. After using up all your Rezes, head to the Telepad in the Hub, where you'll find an NPC requesting specific materials to reset the Overgrowth, helping you progress towards earning more Gold Rations.
Gold Rations are key to the game's meta-progression system. Use them to unlock permanent upgrades via Pherus Bit in the Hub, and also to unlock new services from the Hub's vendors, enhancing your overall gameplay experience.
How to Get & Use Abyss Stone in Hyper Light Breaker
To obtain Abyss Stones, you must conquer the challenging Crown bosses, found beyond gates in the Overgrowth. Remember, you need to collect Prism first, which are marked by yellow diamonds on your in-game map, before you can challenge these formidable foes.
Like Gold Rations, Abyss Stones contribute to meta-progression. Use them to upgrade your Sycoms' stats and unlock new characters during loadout confirmation, just before diving back into the Overgrowth, to gain advantages in your subsequent adventures.
How to Get & Use Key in Hyper Light Breaker
Keys are sporadically found by opening small containers in the Overgrowth, which are typically not marked on your map, adding a layer of challenge to their acquisition.
Use Keys to:
- Bypass barriers in the Overgrowth to access Stashes and other lootable containers.
- Gain entry to Labs, underground areas brimming with enemies and collectibles.
How to Get & Use MediGem in Hyper Light Breaker
MediGems are vital for your survival, obtained by interacting with small glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. They're crucial because they can be exchanged for Medkits at the Hub's Telepad or at Shrines within the Overgrowth.
Before you can use MediGems, you must first expand your Medkit capacity to one. Visit Pherus Bit in the Hub and spend one Gold Ration to unlock the Medkit Capacity node.
How to Get & Use Core in Hyper Light Breaker
Cores are a critical meta-progression resource. You can find them in Stashes within the Overgrowth, marked by chest icons on your map, or by combining four Core Shards. These shards are obtained from enemies that drop Prisms, marked by yellow diamonds, and from unmarked lootable objects like bone piles encountered while exploring.
Use Cores to upgrade your Sycom during loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth, enhancing the stats of your Breakers for better performance.
How to Get & Use Material in Hyper Light Breaker
Materials are primarily acquired by using Bright Blood to unlock small chests in the Overgrowth, often indicated by gems on your map. You can also accumulate more Materials by selling gear to vendors in the Hub.
Use Materials to purchase gear from vendors located in both the Hub and the Overgrowth. While similar to Bright Blood, Materials have more specific applications.
