Get Your Pet

As soon as you dive into *Diablo 4* Season 7, head straight to the nearest town with a Wardrobe. Interact with it to claim your pet. While pets don't engage in combat, they're invaluable for automatically collecting your gold and materials. This saves you a ton of time, allowing you to focus solely on battling and looting.

Grab Your Mercenaries

If you own the *Vessel of Hatred* expansion, make your way to the Den and recruit a Mercenary. Solo players can have up to two Mercenaries, making leveling and combat significantly easier. Plus, you'll build Rapport with them, unlocking additional rewards.

Follow the Seasonal Questline and Level Up

Starting on Normal difficulty, follow the new seasonal questline marked by green leaf icons on your map. This questline introduces you to all the new mechanics of Season 7, including Headhunt zones, Grim Favors for the Tree of Whispers, and Witch powers. Though it's not lengthy, it includes some puzzles and requires farming Favors in Headhunt zones. This is also the fastest way to reach level 60. Keep tackling Headhunt zone bosses, collect and turn in Favors, and level up your Witch powers simultaneously.

Unlock Your Class Power

A helpful quality-of-life update means you no longer need to repeat class-specific priority quests if you've already completed them on a previous character. Just ensure you log into the Eternal realm with that character first. For instance, if you're playing a Rogue in Season 7, log in with a pre-existing Rogue who has completed the quests. Then, switch to your new Season 7 Rogue, and your class power will unlock automatically once you reach the required level.

Headhunt Zones

While navigating Headhunt zones, don't forget to complete Whispers. With four zones active at any time, aim for the smaller, more compact ones for higher enemy density, allowing you to farm mobs and complete Whispers more efficiently. Prioritize these Whisper quests:

  • Fugitive: Recover a head or destroy a husk by defeating Elites and interacting with roots.
  • Shepherd: Escort animals around the map, an easy task to complete.

Once you accumulate 10 Grim Favors, exchange them at the Tree of Whispers for a cache. Alternatively, turn in your Favors to the Raven of the Tree found in each Headhunt zone, avoiding the need to teleport back to the Tree of Whispers.

Witchcraft Powers

At the Tree of Whispers, interact with the Altars of Witchcraft to buy and upgrade your Witchcraft powers using Restless Rot, obtained from killing new Rot enemies. While these powers are inexpensive to purchase, upgrading them is costly. Focus on those that boost your damage directly for substantial passive damage increases.

Some Witch powers are exclusive to Forgotten Altars, which you might encounter in regular dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons, Pits, and Rootholds at Torment 1 difficulty. Increase your chances of finding these altars by consuming a Draught of Whispers.

Rootholds

Rootholds, a new dungeon type in *Diablo 4* Season 7, are accessible by consuming a Whispering Wood, obtained from Whispers and Silent Chests. Similar to the rogue-lite mode of Infernal Hordes, Rootholds allow you to activate negative modifiers that enhance loot quality. As you explore, open Exposed Roots for loot, influenced by the modifiers. It's best to save your Roothold keys for Torment 1 difficulty, as they're your prime source for Ancestral loot this Season.

Occult Gems

For late-game progression, craft Occult Gems by speaking with Gelena at the Tree of Whispers. These gems outperform regular ones when slotted into your jewelry but require a lot of Restless Rot and Heads, dropped by Roothold bosses and Fugitives in Headhunt zones. Use a Draught of Whispers to increase your chances of obtaining Heads from bosses.

Pits, Infernal Hordes, and Nightmare Dungeons

Don't neglect Pits and Nightmare Dungeons in your rotation. Nightmare Dungeons provide Glyphs, while Pits help you level them up. Additionally, farm Infernal Hordes for masterworking materials to enhance your Uniques.
