The legendary Pokémon Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are set to make their debut during the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event, bringing with them exciting new Adventure Effects that enhance your Pokémon catching experience outside of battle. To maximize your gains during the event, be sure to utilize the Tour Pass.
Black Kyurem's signature move, Freeze Shock, envelops the area in electrically charged ice for 10 minutes, immobilizing wild Pokémon and making them significantly easier to catch. On the other hand, White Kyurem's Ice Burn slows down the target ring during encounters, facilitating the execution of Excellent Throws. Both effects can be extended in 10-minute increments, up to two hours at a time, with a total possible duration of 24 hours.
During the event, you'll have the opportunity to challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to gather Fusion Energy. After successfully fusing Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, the move will be replaced by either Freeze Shock or Ice Burn. Note that these moves revert back to Glaciate once the Pokémon are separated, and currently, Kyurem cannot learn these moves through Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.
Participants can choose between two event badges: the Black Version (Reshiram) or the White Version (Zekrom). Opting for the Black Version means that Kyurem encountered after defeating Black Kyurem will know Glaciate, alongside receiving Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. Choosing the White Version grants Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards, and Kyurem encountered after defeating White Kyurem will also know Glaciate.
To enhance your event experience, make use of the Tour Pass, which not only unlocks various rewards but also boosts your Adventure Effects. Earn Tour Points by catching Pokémon, completing raids, and hatching Eggs, or accelerate your progress with quick Pass Tasks. Achieving Major Milestones will increase your Catch XP and extend the duration of either Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.
For those looking to get the most out of the event, consider upgrading to the Tour Pass Deluxe. This premium option offers immediate encounters with Victini, additional event-themed encounters, an exclusive avatar item, and the new Lucky Trinket. The Lucky Trinket is a one-time-use item that allows you to become Lucky Friends with a selected friend from your Friend List, thereby enhancing your next trade.
Mark your calendars as the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event is scheduled to run from February 24th to March 2nd.
